For 20 years, Operation Christmas Child has been organizing Christmas shoebox donations for children around the globe. Boxes contain toys, school supplies, toiletries and more for kids ages 2-14. We are looking forward to participating in Operation Christmas Child for our 2nd year! Last year we sent 100 Shoebox gifts around the world and this year, our goal is 150. If you are interested in participating, please see ways to get involved:

1) Fill a bag with the age-appropriate items below (Paper bags with checklist are also available at each Stronghold location). Be sure all items will fit in bag, which is about the same capacity as the boxes we will providing. Return bag to any Stronghold location by November 21.

2) Offer a monetary donation. We will be purchasing plastic shoeboxes and Stronghold Kids T-Shirts for the boxes. There is a recommended shipping donation of $7 per box. We can also fill a shoebox for you!

Shoebox Items Checklist:
• Pair of Socks
• Pair of Slippers
• Toothbrush
• Toothpaste
• Bar Soap
• Comb
• Washcloth
• Flashlight/Batteries
• Accessories (Hair Clips, Hair Ties, Watch, Jewelry • Crayons or Markers
• Small Book
• Pencils or Pens
• Pad of Paper or Coloring Book
• Toy Cars, Small Dolls or Stuffed Animal
• Miscellaneous Toys (No Weapons please)
*Please do not include: Used/Damaged Items, Toy Weapons, Candy, or any type of liquids.

The Stronghold will be providing 150 plastic shoeboxes (so kids can keep their items safe for a long time!) and 150 Stronghold T-Shirts. This is a great project for ages young and old! Let’s remember that Christmas is a time of giving! Please note that all items should be new and unused and that items should be compact to be able to fit as many items as possible in a shoebox.

Some suggested places to purchase items: Costco (buy items in bulk) or 99 cent stores for toys, toiletries and school supplies. Drop off your donations at a Stronghold near you (Point Loma, Eastlake or Rancho Bernardo) by Saturday, November 15. We will have a donation basket marked “Operation Christmas Child Donation Items.” If you are not near a Stronghold and want to support with monetary donations, you can do so by clicking here. Any amount helps! We are also looking to raise $1200 to cover shipping costs and will use any surplus donations to cover missing items.

Check back at our website when we announce our Packing Party! Bring a Christmas dish to share and have fun with us as we pack 150 shoeboxes! After we finish, we will take a group photo to include in the shoebox for the kids.

Be sure to bookmark thestrongholdsd.com/occ to track our progress of donations and use our official Hashtag: #StrongholdOCC. Thank you for your support. We look forward to spreading Christmas love to kids worldwide with your donations!

Check out the fun we had last year at our Packing Party!
