Women’s Self-Defense Classes – February 2014

Wednesday, February 5th, 2014

We will be holding a Women’s Self-Defense Seminar on Thursday, February 13 at Point Loma and February 20 at Eastlake (7PM-9PM). We try to bring Jim Perondi (many of you know him and have taken this class already) every year to provide practical techniques for Self-Defense. We always encourage Women to train Jiu Jitsu long-term, but we know some are hesitant so if you can at least set aside 2 hours, this seminar is great. Jim also covers some techniques outside of Jiu Jitsu and general awareness tips.

In the past we have done this for free but truth be told: free also translates into flaky. It will be $10 a participant and all funds will be donated to the San Diego Rescue Mission per Jim’s request. He never charges for this event because he genuinely cares about women learning this stuff. However this time around, The Stronghold is choosing to take donations because in the past women would reserve their spot only to no-show, and unfortunately we had to turn away others because the class was full.

If you would like to participate and we request that everyone pays/secures their spot by the Monday prior that way we can accommodate last minute reservations should you need to cancel. Please share with all your female friends, it can save a life! Please e-mail!

Thank you for all your support for helping us fill 100 Shoeboxes filled with gifts for Operation Christmas Child. We had a great turnout! We still have about 50 boxes that are incomplete and are still in need of socks, washcloths, coloring books, and small toys. If you are able to donate any items or give a monetary donation, we’d greatly appreciate it! We will be sending our boxes to the Drop Off location the week of November 18. To donate, visit us at our Point Loma, Eastlake or Rancho Bernardo location or donate via Paypal on
